Join Us in-Year

Families move schools for many reasons. Whether you are moving into the area, relocating within London or simply looking for a school that is a better fit for your child, we would be delighted to talk to you about Springfield.

Joining a new school can feel daunting for children and families. We work hard to ensure that every child feels welcomed, supported and included from their very first day.

As a small school community, we know our pupils well and pride ourselves on helping new children settle quickly, make friends and thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Springfield is a happy, inclusive and ambitious school where children are encouraged to develop confidence, kindness and a love of learning. We are proud of our strong academic outcomes, exceptional outdoor spaces and welcoming community.

Children joining Springfield quickly become part of school life. Our staff work closely with families to ensure a smooth transition, helping children settle into new routines, make friends and feel a strong sense of belonging.

Alongside excellent teaching, pupils benefit from Forest School, specialist sports provision, a wide range of educational visits and enrichment opportunities, and wraparound care from 7.45am until 6pm.

School places can become available throughout the year and waiting lists change regularly. Even if there is not currently a space in your preferred year group, we encourage you to contact us and discuss your options.

Can my child join Springfield during the school year?

Yes. We welcome applications throughout the year and regularly support children joining at different points in their education.

How do I apply for an in-year place?

Applications are made through Hackney’s in-year admissions process. Our school office can guide you through the process and answer any questions.

What happens if there are no places available?

You can request to join the waiting list. Places become available throughout the year and waiting lists are updated regularly.

How do you support children joining mid-year?

We take time to understand each child’s needs, provide opportunities to meet staff and classmates, and work closely with families to ensure a positive transition.

What support is available for children with SEND?

Springfield is an inclusive school with strong systems to support children with a wide range of needs. We work closely with families and external agencies where appropriate.

Can I visit before applying?

Yes. We strongly encourage prospective families to book a tour and experience the school in action before making a decision.
